New Hope District Moderator

Reverend Brian L. Harvey has been the proud pastor of Bethel Second Baptist Church in Las Cruces, New Mexico since 2014. He was raised in Los Angeles CA and joined the military after graduating High School. After serving in the United States Army, he made Albuquerque his home. Reverend Harvey accepted the call to preach the gospel and was ordained in 1994. He has been faithfully serving the Lord for almost 30 years. During those years, Reverend Harvey founded and pastored Yahweh’s Temple of Praise church. He also served for ten years as an associate minister at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, and a Chaplain with the Albuquerque Police Department.

Reverend Harvey currently serves as Moderator of the New Hope District Association, and General Secretary of the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist State Convention. Reverend Harvey plans to keep the New Hope District Association the best district “between two seas.” Reverend Harvey is married to his devoted wife and helpmate of 18 years, Kimberly Harvey, together they have two academic and athletic children, Kaylie, and Cameron.
